这件五花瓣花式洗的特徵，在造型可以看出是很严谨的，体现出端莊，穩重。制做工艺特别精致，细腻。胎色褐黑色。釉料肥润，玉质感强，色调苍灰深沉，表面有大小不规则的浅纹开片。口沿有若隐若现的胎色，底足釉水在边沿自然收口，露胎工整。这一现象，就是所谓的紫口铁足。
