This rare cloisonne Islamic Muslim bronze plate originates from Urumqi, China. In the 1990s, the Brunei National Museum made a bid for it but it was eventually acquired by a private collector in Singapore and did not end up in the Brunei National Museum’s collection. Such Cloisonne relics were only used within the Royal Palace and among aristocrats during the Ming Dynasty, and considered rather precious. They became more popular after the Qing Dynasty.
